1. About this Policy
1.1 This privacy policy (the Policy) describes the Personal Data that Nerdshed collects through this website, what it is used for, who receives it and how long it is kept.
1.2 In this Policy: Nerdshed, we, us and our mean the business that operates this website, at Shop 78, FAAN Shopping Complex The Bungalow Shopping Complex Ikeja, Lagos Nigeria Landmark: Old Ikeja Along Bus stop; you and your mean the person using this website; Personal Data means information that identifies you or can be linked to you; and an Order is an order placed on this website.
1.3 The cookies and browser storage this website uses are listed in our Cookie policy, which forms part of this Policy.
2. Orders
2.1 When you place an Order, we collect your name, telephone number, email address, delivery and billing address, the delivery option and payment method you choose, and any note you add.
2.2 These details are sent to our shop system (WooCommerce, on our WordPress website at nerdshed.com.ng), which creates the Order. Your internet (IP) address is passed to WooCommerce with the Order.
2.3 We use these details to process, deliver and support your Order, and to contact you about it. WooCommerce sends the emails about your Order.
2.4 If you choose door delivery, the courier that delivers the Order receives the name, telephone number and address needed to deliver it.
2.5 No card details are taken on this website. A bank transfer is made from your own bank, and an Order paid on delivery is paid to the rider.
3. Details remembered on your device
3.1 At checkout, Remember these details on this device is ticked unless you untick it. While it is ticked, your name, telephone number, email address and delivery address are kept in your browser, on your device only, so the next checkout is filled in for you. If you order with the box unticked, the saved details are removed. Your payment details are never kept.
4. Customer accounts
4.1 If you create an account, WordPress keeps your email address, your password, your name, your addresses and your Orders. This website never keeps your password.
4.2 While you are signed in, this website holds your name, email address and addresses in its memory, not on disk, until you sign out, until you have been inactive for a period, or 7 days after you signed in, whichever comes first.
4.3 The products and quantities in your cart are saved to your account in WooCommerce, so the same cart is there when you sign in on another device. No prices are saved. When you sign in, your account’s cart and the cart on your device are combined.
4.4 A request to change your email address sends a confirmation link to the new address, and WordPress tells the old address that it has changed.
5. Sign in with Google
5.1 If you choose Sign in with Google, your browser loads Google’s sign-in service from accounts.google.com. That service is not loaded, and nothing is sent to Google, until you press that button.
5.2 Google then sends us your name, your email address, a Google account identifier and confirmation that Google has verified the email address. We use them only to find your account, or to create one where this website accepts new accounts, and to sign you in. We keep the Google account identifier with your account, in WordPress, so that you can sign in with Google again. We never receive your Google password.
5.3 An account that belongs to our staff cannot be signed in to this way.
6. Tracking an Order
6.1 To track an Order, you give its order number and, if you are not signed in, the email address used for it. We use them only to find the Order, and the answer shows only its status.
7. Messages about an Order
7.1 If you use Report a problem on an Order, your message and the reason you choose are added to the Order in WooCommerce as a note that only we can see, and are emailed to us with the name on the Order.
7.2 If you use I have paid on an Order, the time you pressed it is added to the Order in the same way and emailed to us.
8. WhatsApp
8.1 WhatsApp links on this website open WhatsApp with a message ready for you to send, such as the name, product code and page address of a product, or an order number. This website sends nothing to WhatsApp itself.
8.2 If you message us on WhatsApp, we receive what you send, and WhatsApp’s own terms and privacy policy apply to the conversation.
9. Cart reminder emails
9.1 At checkout, a box offers an email reminder if you do not finish your Order. If the box is ticked, your email address and the identifiers and quantities of the products in your cart are sent to our reminder service. No prices and no name are sent.
9.2 You receive at most two reminders, the first about an hour after you last used the cart and the second about a day later, never between 21:00 and 08:00 Lagos time. Reminders stop when you order, unsubscribe or empty the cart, and after 7 days. If you placed an Order with the box ticked and it is not yet paid, the reminders are about paying for it.
9.3 The emails are sent through Brevo, an email service, which receives your email address and the content of the email. We record whether a reminder was opened or its links were used, and whether an Order followed within 7 days.
9.4 Every reminder has a link to unsubscribe in one step. After you unsubscribe, we keep only a one-way code of your email address, so that it is never added again.
9.5 Your email address is removed from the reminder service 30 days after its reminders end. Copies remain in our database backups for up to about 8 weeks.
10. Anonymous statistics
10.1 This website counts how often its products, categories and pages are viewed, using a random code for each browser tab. The code is not a cookie, is not linked to you or your Orders, and is held in memory only. No IP address or browser details are kept.
10.2 When you open a search result, the words you searched are counted with the product you chose, so that search results can list first what people choose. Words that look like an email address, a telephone number, a web address or a long number are never sent or kept.
10.3 The words searched on this website are also counted, whoever searches, to see what customers look for and whether the shop has it. The same screen applies: words that look like personal details are never kept.
10.4 Only daily totals are kept: views and the searches that led to a product for 90 days, and the words searched for 60 days.
10.5 No view and no opened search result is counted while your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. None of these counts is sent to Google.
11. Microsoft Clarity
11.1 Only if you allow Analytics in the cookie banner, Microsoft Clarity records how pages are used, such as clicks, taps and scrolling. Clarity masks everything you type, never runs on the checkout, account and order tracking pages, and never receives your name, address, telephone number, email address, order details or bank details. It is described in full in the Cookie policy.
12. Google Ads
12.1 Only if you allow Advertising in the cookie banner, Google receives the order number, total and currency when you place an Order, and, if you also allow personalised ads, the identifiers and prices of the products you view or add to your cart. We never send Google your name, email address, telephone number or address. It is described in full in the Cookie policy.
13. Protecting this website
13.1 To limit misuse, this website keeps your IP address in its memory for up to one hour when you place an Order, and a one-way code of it for its other limits. Neither is written to disk.
13.2 Your connection to this website is encrypted (HTTPS).
14. Who receives Personal Data
14.1 Personal Data is received only by: WooCommerce and WordPress, our shop system; the courier that delivers a door delivery; and any other service named in this Policy, only as this Policy describes.
14.2 This website and its search run on a server we rent. Searches are answered on that server and are not sent to another company.
14.3 We do not sell or rent your Personal Data.
15. Your choices
15.1 You may untick Remember these details on this device at checkout, and delete what this website keeps in your browser through your browser’s settings.

16. Consent to analytics and advertising
16.1 You may give, change or withdraw your consent at any time with Cookie settings at the foot of every page. Refusing changes nothing else about this website.
17. Applicable law and complaints
17.1 This Policy is written for the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and the General Application and Implementation Directive (GAID) 2025 of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
